Don't quit from here Jake, perhaps just take a break - just lurk without posting if it upsets you so much.

Unfortunately, I think at your age, you underestimate the complexity and cost of this hobby. I was the same at your age - I thought that if I saved my lunch money for a month I would have enough to buy a heli and that would be it. How wrong was I. I seriously recommend just taking it easy with what you have. Your teens will fly over and you will afford the hobby soon enough. It doesn't have to be expensive - it just is 99% of the time.

I have been reading the threads Jake has posted and I think a few people are being a little bit hard on the fella myself. He is only 14 after all, im sure reading between the lines he has taken enough stick over the years without getting any from adults on here. When I was 14 I was fairly immature at times, maybe Jake is just learning still, I dont really know? At 14 you are going to flit from one thing to another, its just a new thing to get excited about and its free
So maybe cut him some slack fella's?

          +1 Well said.

Not to go against any members on the forum as I understand everyone is having a laugh but he's not enjoying it at all.

Best thing to do Jake is stop posting (not nasty), just read up and get your helis flying! That way you will still have fun! Maybe cut peoples lawns or something like that to get the funds for your helis.

I think you'll find Laurence some of us are not having a laugh we are trying to focus Jakes attention and help. He does flit from one thing to another and I probably did too when I was his age many moons ago. This hobby isn't as you all know easy nor cheap and my understanding at the start of the thread was that he was having a heli given to him, one which someone else could use. I was wrong in that it was for his brother and posted an apology.

We all know how old he is and he has posted some very interesting topics that members have enjoyed. However, I firmly believe this forum is not for posting personal issues. Most of us are ill equipped to deal with some of the things that Jake has posted and I do think that posting something with an overtone such as the one above shows that Jake needs to take some of his problems to people who can deal appropriately with them. Starting with his parents.

Hey simon, I don't think were being harsh n the fella, or need to cut him any slack, yeah of course we don't want a fellow addict to leave the forum, that's not what this forum is about, but as adults who have been through a little more in life, we are only offering advice and constructive critisicm so that people impressions of Jake are changed for the better, that's all

Third it. It's what makes this place special.

Whilst I don't disagree with some of the sentiments in this thread, I think it is wrong to subject the recipients of other people's generosity to means testing. On what basis do others decide what is and what is not a deserving cause.

I've been the recipient of several member's generosity for which I'm most grateful but, as the fleet list in my sig might suggest, I'm hardly scraping coppers from the soil. Does this mean I should turn down their kind offers?

Actually I've ended paying what the item is worth to me

If the item was offered to you and you are putting it to good use, make use of it
You don't just jump in and grab it because it's free do you?
Or make an excuse that you deserve it above all others

If somebody needed it and couldn't afford it as much would you try and deny them?
