I had a similar problem with a 700 clutch and liner, both brand new. As recommended somewhere on this forum, I put a strip of paper underneath the liner, cut from the title page of the Finnish Aeronautical Association's monthly magazine

Getting it started for the first time took a couple of attempts because too tight. I turned the main gear by hand for a while to give the clutch some "exercise". Once it idled, it took only a couple of minutes to break it in.

I was so happy that I forgot to start the timer and ended up autoing the 700 into a tree... with no damage to the heli the tree lost some smaller branches though.

Scince the LE came out with stronger clutch theres been a lot of threads similar to yours carl, screaming before the clutch grabs and maybe a thicker liner is the solution.
So what was the damage then Carl,It was a good 'un wasn't it!

I notice the 90 liner isnt long enough Matt, did you put one full one in and then part of the other?

        Cheers

          Hi Carl,
Nope, no problems, raptor liner was a touch too long and wide and i had to trim it to fit with a sharp knife.
          Thanks
