  • Pulsejet engines

Anyone ever thought about making one scaled down for a plane ? often thought about it and had a couple of goes at making the pulse engine but couldn't ever get one to run for more than a few seconds . Just a passing thought and wondered if it had ever been done , if not do ya fancy a go ?

    Loads of 'em.
    Here's one for starters.

IIRC they had pulse jet engines for jet models before they developed micro turbines.

Its been done, and they've been around for a long time, if you google it I'm sure you'll find loads about them.

They arnt very common these days though probably because of noise issues and modern turbine engines.

Edit: This page may be worth a look, the guy has done a lot of research on it, and found a way to control the ammount of power they generate aswell, something that you simply couldnt do with them for a long time (right at the bottom of the page).

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Wow should have really looked at the model side of things before iv'e onlt ever looked at the larger scale engines before. Amazing how somthing with no moving parts can create thrust .

Thats quite eery actually. From the footage i have seen of the V1's flying over London during WWII, it must have been a dreadful sound to hear, and even worse when it all of a sudden just cuts out... Sends a shiver down the spine.

            But that jet was awesome!!

I wonder what would happen if you flew one near the east end of london

I watched a few vids last year of larger pulse jets running on youtube and there are some serious engines etc. and fires... I also remember seeing some pics in RCME/RCMW about 20 years ago... As mentioned they are very loud so in this day and age i doubt whether the fun police would allow them to be run...
