  • A Spektrum Q and a auto...

Hehehe.. Been out again today as been loving how i'm flying with the 600!

I think I was loving it too much as I totally forgot to check on the fuel!!.. Luckily I just came off Inverted and was bringing her in when... I ran out of fuel!! Good job, I've been practicing auto's on Phoenix and it was only about 4mtrs up when the engine cut out!.. and I done my first real auto!! and it was a good one . i'd hate to think of the damage if I was inverted and at the height I was, as I dont think I would of landed her!

I've got Question if someone can answer it for me please, as I cant seem to find the answer?!

My AR7000 on the 600 has started to develope a "blinking light", Done some research and it says the Rx has rebooted because of a power outage/and recalling 2 channels? I'm not sure why this is though, as theres always a good power feed.. and if I see the blinking light before a flight, I always turn both the Tx & Rx off/on and make sure it binds with a solid light.. Now heres where it goes funny.. When I apply throttle, the solid light goes to a blinking light?!?! No matter what I do.. it always goes from solid to blinking ?? Surely this aint normal as it dont happen on the AR7000 on my 500! So can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to sort it, and if its still ok to fly like this?

    Thank you

Check all your wiring for split wires or lose connections. Also check the remote satellite rx cable. Also check the regulator to make sure the voltage isn't dropping too low when the servos are moving.
If it all checks out give Horizon a call.

The wires and connections are fine as that was my first suspicion. How do I check the reg voltage?

Hmm, I've just remembered something. The align on/off panel with the battery indicator did at one point show 2 red lights on a freshly charged Lipo when it was in the air. When I re-binded due to the blinker, the battery indicator went back up to max with a solid rx light. And then applying a little throttle, the blinking light comes back on the rx satallite and the battery indicator on the Align 2-1 goes back down to 2 red dots? But I've only noticed this with the new turnigy lipo i'm using.. I think I have to try it with the original Align one and see what it does.

Could it be a faulty 2-1 Reg??.. i've already had this replaced once!

          Good Morning all.
I have just bought a TREX700 without the receiver and went for the Spektrum AR7000. Last night I spent 3 hours trying to get the RX to light up but without success. I connected the RX direct to a battery and it blinked once and went out. I then connected up an old Futaba 7CH direct to the battery and it lit up straight away. Do you think the Spektrum is faulty. I bought it from Fast Lads this week.

            Hi,

Have you completed the bind process? You only get a solid light after you've bound the receiver to the transmitter.

            Regards

            Justin

              busybody flyer:
I also think it sounds like the you have not binded the transmitter and receiver, remember to hold the tx bind switch down until the lights on the Rx are solid.

              Eckchaz:
It may well be the 2 in 1 Reg, as I hear there not very reliable, don't fly the heli until you have sorted it out. If you can find no fault with the Reg swap the Rx with the one in your 500 (including satellite) and see if you can replicate the problem.

Hi Justin. Yes that was the first thing I did. I noticed on the instructions you can connect a battery direct to the RX with the Bind connector and create the binding in this method. I have a Futaba 6ch RX and used this method on it and it binded straight away.

Thats two for the 2 in 1 then! So soldering up the switch to permantly on? I probably wont do this till I find out exactly whats wrong though and I'll probably swap the unit with the 500 one to see what happens first!

So is it not safe to fly with a blinking rx? I read it was still fine but just a warning to say check the power outtage?
