MK Flyin Sunday travel

I am tentatively looking to go to the MK flyin, probably Sunday and will be travelling by train from London.

Soooo, I am looking to see if anyone is travelling to the field from a direction that would make it practical to give me a lift from the MK central station.

I would be arriving at the station around noon.

Alternatively if someone is driving up from this area I would be happy to split the petrol cost.

Or, I could get a train to Northampton but it is quite a bit longer train journey.

I can also do either day but I am not staying over so I'll need to get back to the station in the afternoon at some point. Last year I went up just for the afternoon and came back fairly early as well and that suits me just fine, the difference is this year I'd bring a heli and fly a little bit.

If it looks like too big a hassle then I'll just stay here and get in some flying at one of the clubs I usually fly at, so it's no big deal either way really.

Hi Hon I am not sure of distances but I am travelling from the other end of the world but I will happilly pick you & your heli up from either station , but can you get an earlier train as I hope to get to the fly-in for about 9.30 . Is that any help ???????????? Rachel

Hiya, Thanks very much for the offer, I do truly appreciate it but there's no way I can get there even at 9.30 let alone early enough to be at the field at 9.30. It's two hours to MK and 2 and a half to Northampton and it's just not possible for me to get out that early.

Realistically I have no desire to be there any earlier than about noon

I understand , I will happilly pick you up from the station , my only problem is having to pack away my heli's,......

asy idea how far the site is from the station 7 which one you will use ? I have a sat nav so I should find it ok

I have never been to a fly in before, I am sure it would be safe to leave them at the pits but, do you know anyone i could ask too keep an eye on them whilst I go for you ???

Rachel the club will happily look after your helis for you. MK station is around 30 mins from the field so it will take you around an hour. Trillian, the Norhhampton station is easier to get to and with the car journey the closest. It's only another 15mins from MK. Bear in mind the Silverstone is this weekend so the traffic may be a bit heavier than normal.

Rachel .. most of us leave our heli's in the pits and do other stuff and TBH most of us know each other so if you want to leave your heli's while you nip to station ... Your than welcome to leave them next to mine

Alternative offer if it helps ...

Sounds like you are heading up the line from Euston, I can either pick you up at the MK station or closer to London at Berkhamsted or Tring as that is where I'm driving from.

Can also return you to any one of those stations on the way back.

I won't be flying on the Sunday, just helping out there as a member of the MKHeli Club, so timing can be altered to suit your needs and I'll be making the trip anyway so no problems there either.
