  • CC Ice50......confused!

I want to use set RPM gov mode but I am worried about spool up in normal mode.

It asks you to enter 3 values for set RPM. The 1st value which is anything upto 50% so this means I should have something like a flat curve of 30 in my Normal throttle curve, 75 in idle 1 and 100 in idle 2 for each set speed.

However, my ESC won't arm in normal mode as my value is a flat 30 at zero stick. How do I get past this problem? Do I just use throttle hold? If so what value does that need to be (0? -5% etc?)

I don't want to use the Auto Rotation enabled feature as to be honest, I won't be autoing a 450 anytime soon and needing to bail out.

    I use this mode, and I have a DX7.

I power up with throttle hold on, and this is -5%. I'm bound with this as failsafe, and throttle hold is how I shutdown the motor.

Throttle curves are flat at a value to select whichever of the 3 RPMs you want.

When you knock off TH, the motor will soft-start and spool up at your specified spool up rate to the selected RPM (I love this... )

I do the same as Scallybert but if you are using the full Ice Gov it will tell you not to use really high % in your throttle curve!

For set RPM 3 you have to use 100% as it's for 99% and above.

          I do mine like this:

          Normal mode:
          0%-30%-30%-30%-30%

          Idle 1:
          60% flat

          Idle 2:
          100% flat

This is when using gov mode with set rpms, (ie the latest firmware)

This way you can arm in normal mode as normal and still have the bail out feature set on throttle hold.

          Hope this helps.

Thanks swash, I was wondering how you would still be able to arm in Normal mode when using bail-out.
