  • Flybar weights

    Hi,

I am trying to get some flybar weights, i think that the only ones are JR, i cannot seem to get them for love or money, i was thinking to use collets from the wheels of a plane, any thoughts comments on this mod?

Where have to tried to get the weights? What heli is it for ?

I know that you can them from Midland Heli the split type within the Accessories section.

I have seen collets being used, provided the inner diameter is a perfect fit and I would be tempted to weight them on a digital scale.
    Cheers

Its for a F1 carbon Max (flybar 3mm) - i know, but i am on a mission, i will try midland helicopters, problem is that they do not have a very good track record when it come to parcels arriving when they are supposed to.

I will post my mission so you can get a glimpse of my very own mission impossible......

      thanks

What about just changing the paddles to hirobo Sceadu or Freya they have the two weights in that you can take out. I have hirobo freya paddles on my Fury Extreme. 24.00 they cost if my memory serves me right.

I like the sharp crisp response from the QUK High Performance paddles, the pitch a little in FFF, and i am told that the weights will sort my problem, these are really responsive when it comes to sideways flips, i wouldn't want to lose that, i know i wont know until try, buti would like to see how i get on with the weight first before exploring other paddles.

          thanks

            RotorX,

Have you tried the MA white 3d paddles? the 3mm one is part no: 0871 6

I used to fly the K&S ones on my rappy 30 but like you I found the roll rate to be great but the pitchyness in FFF really let them down, I have heard of some people sanding down the leading edge to make it more blunt to ease the pitcyness but Im not sure if this is really worth it as removing more material from the paddle will make it lighter still and yet more pitchy.

I was told about the MA paddles by a friend of mine who has them on all his helis and swears by them.

I tried a set on the 30 and I am really happy with their performace, they retain the roll rate and are far more stable in FFF, a much better all round paddle and now very widely used it would seem.

            Cheers,

            Pete.
