Chuckle flight..

4th flight this am..first on my sev2.. at around 6.20 when you lot were still coming down from last nights excesses..


Anyway, took off and the canopy gromment slipped one side. I flicked to idle down..just as the other came off and the canopy slid slowly down the nose..and hooked itself from the vent hole back over the front of the left skid!!

It looked darned stupid and I was chukling about that until I realised it might make landing a bit difficult:

So I'm bouncing heli up and down trying to shake the thing off.. no joy. Then I try a few back flips..which were horribly soggy(and I put down to the parachute effect).. No joy..still hooked solid on one side..

So we go for a coupel of rolls..Jeez this thing is welded to my skid! Still soggy flips...

Then we go for a forwards tumble and finally the canopy unhooks, bounces off the blades and I can land..oops was still in idle down through all those flips!

I was still chuckling as I retrieved the gear.. heli unmarked and a bit of align putty cracked out of the canopy..

Result!

very lucky! It's good when you can laugh at these things, instead of crying that it's write off

My lovely missus wrote off my DSX9 this morning as it was sitting on charge.Caught it with her flailing dressing gown and down she went.Thought it was just the aerial but the roller selector has gone as well

Shame though mate, shit happens I guess. But as pgkevet says, it's worth giving the home insurance a shot.
