I was at my field today, and it has been recently cut and bailed for hay. On first take off, I had loads of dust and fine grass 'bits' flying up under the blades, so I wasted no time in getting her air bourne. I flew 4 tanks worth of flying, and was amazed just how much dust was all over the heli and especially the engine. I spent the next 20 min with wet wipes and dry blue roll cleaning all the dust off.
My concern is, how much crap got sucked into the motor? When I raced RC cars, you always used good quality air filters. Are they ever used on Heli's? I know gassers use them.
Think I may take a watering can up there next time, and water the pad first.
