  • Blade question from a lame pilot....

Hey Folks, there's a thread currently live about 325 blades but I didn't want to hijack so I thought I would post my question here.

I came a across a thread/post/article ages ago about the joy of wooden blades being that they cost damn all and absorb lots of the crash. This I've found to be the case and have been buying align 325 red woodies for my 450 basher ever since. I recently bought and built a HK 450 Pro TT (been thining of writing a review, any interest?) and since being built it's been killing me as it only flies for 3 minutes to get my 2200 3S to 20% full.

Having worried about the ESC temperature, changed the motor, loosened/tightened/loosened/tightened the torque tube I read a post about HK blades being crap and swapped in some woodies - holy cow! I was running at 80% thottle to hold a stable hover and now its at 60% and the bird is a different heli!

Anyhows - what Im wondering is that now Im getting less hopeless at flying - I guess Im sport with stall turns and what not - are the woodies still the way to go? lots of peeps seem to be telling me they are a pos and that cf is the way to go.

    Thoughts?

    Chris.

    3 minutes??

Align 325mm woodies are fine for sport stuff - use them all the time. Various places are now doing el-cheapo carbons (fast lads, rc heli spares) tried most of them and they seem pretty good
