Got a new model today!

Well, i have been over my grandparents today for a bbq and was taking to my grandad about i fancy a model boat. After a while he said he had one in the shed which is about 30 yrs old, not fully built but mostly. Also It came with a brand spanking new irvine marine 40 rc!!! The best bit for me is that its an rc boat!!! So, micro servo on throttle and an s3003 on rudder. Ill upload some piccys later!!

my 9c. i am really hoping i will stick with the build as there isnt a great amount to be done.

The duct tape is holding a spar while its gluing. Its a nice little boat! Its 30 yrs old!

You may want to make it electric now because not many lakes will let you run a glow powered model in them due to pollution. The new world order of course it must be green.

If you do want to run the boat as a glow powered one then I think castor straight mix is allowed by some lakes/clubs to run.

Just be careful jake as using a 35meg tx on boats or cars is not aloud, 35meg is only for aircraft, 40meg and 27meg are for boats and cars

Just say it's a seaplane... all you have to do is get it up to 100mph, and it'll fly...

Will the engine work at slanted forward 45 degree as this is how the prop shaft is??

Good on you Jake.

I started in RC with boats your granddad may remember these boats but I started back around 1974 / 75 with a veron kit of a vosper royal target towing launch, this was powered with a enya 09 that's 1.5cc and was controlled with a set of horizon single stick 2 ch 27 meg radio, this was very soon followed with a veron kit again this time a round briton racer with a enya 15 that's 2.5cc on the same set of radio, this meant that I had 2 boats both controlled by the one tx and in those days you had no model memory if I had the trims set for one boat I had to move them when I ran the other boat.

Both of these boat were all wood construction and had to be painted and fuel proofed, these were then followed with a full blown out and out fibreglass racing hull a boat called a mini jaguar, this was powered by a OPS 21 with a tuned pipe on it, I then followed this with the big brother to the mini jaguar that was called the jaguar this had a webra speed 40 in it with a dynamix carb and tuned pipe, I then got interested in aircraft and soon sold all the boats to buy a DB models tyro major that was powered with a OS Max 25 and so that got me flying and I have continued flying from that day on also racing cars for a short time but never dropping the aircraft until October last year when I started flying helis and I'm loving every minuet of it.

IIRC they did a 34" and a 46" model.
It's a scale model.

I had the Fairey Swordsman 33" DeepV hull type, which at the time was a semi-scale model of the Fairey boat.
