  • Loong max 3S packs?

I'm looking at repacing some of my most tired 3S packs with some loong max tipples.
They only publish packed prices for shipping -I'm guessing the lowest cost one is actually under 200g flying weight.
    1. 3S2300 - 25-35C - £21.34 250g packed.
    2. 3S2300 - 30-40C - £28.41 30g heavier than 1
    3. 3S2700 - 30C - £37 50g heavier than 1

I wondering if the 30-40C is worth the extra money and weight, and if the same about the 2700 which might be a problem to fit on my funny 450 with its sonix superframe.

Is anyone happily flying the 25-35C hard? two for under 50 quid sounds so much better.

The prices are from giant cod. I'm not looking to self import lipos as I need them fairly quick.

    I've got one of the 3S 2300 packs (20C I think?).
Works well, holds headspeed throughout the flight (must use timer to end flights!).

I imagine the higher C rated packs will be even better.
    Pretty good IMO.
    Cheers,

the 2700mah is outrageously big, they will not fit in a Trex 450 sport and Trex 450 v2 and sonix type frame, i have all three of them. i had to send them back, they are very thin but very long and wide 1 and ½ times the standard 2300mah batts. the only fit on the 450 pro but makes it very nose heavy. on a 450 i don't see any benefit of having more than 20C on a 2300mah is 46amps the ESC on a 450 is usually running well below that.

I would only buy a 30-40c if I way pairing them in series for a 500, the 2700mah will fit in the 500 paired in series.

          The 25C 2300mah packs weigh 186 grams.

I had thought about some of those bigger packs as well, to see if the flight times could be increased, but had not heard if they fit or not.

Concept copters think those 2700 packs fit in their V2 and pro 450's. I expect the lower C rated 2700 must be smaller and lighter too. Increased capacity is a bit like extra C rating on a smaller pack but with more flight time too.
            ie 20c on a 2300 = 46A
            20C on a 2700 = 54A - like 23.5 C on a 2300.
though it will also draw more amps to do the same stuff if the heli is heavier.

Will consider concept as theirs come with no plug, rather than the bulletty things and I'm using deans everywhere.

i don't see any benefit of having more than 20C on a 2300mah is 46amps the ESC on a 450 is usually running well below that
That is true, but the C ratings usually aren't true. you can't usually run a 20C labeled pack at anything like 20C without cooking it. The C ratings are subject to marketing inflation

Hence I seek some real world experience to decide if I can do with less than the fattest "40C" labelled packs.
If the lower rated one suits Robgt though I can probably manage with the 25-35C one and save weight and cost. I'm using the scorpion-8 not the pack raping -6

the 2700 20c ones are the ones i am talking about, i did get them from Concepts, richy did say they fit on his V2 but no matter what i did they would not fit on my V2, sport and sonix 450. 450 pro yes. i did let richy know this he was kind enough to swap them over to 2300mah. if you want service like this i suggest concept copter, if i said the same to giant cod they wouldn't exchange it without a long tedious procedure and restocking fee.

giant cod is not so good at customer support

I use the Loong Max Tipple 3S 2300 (25C I think???) in my 450 pro and I find it very good.

Like Rob, I've flown mine for 6 mins without realising I'm at the end of the pack, my usual flight time on it is approx 4:30. It is very consistent on the headspeed.

Power is also respectable but not quite a match for some other packs out there but it's barely noticeable.

All in all it is consistent, has good power and you get a decent cost per flight out of them. Nothing negative to say about them...

I got mine from the Giant Fishy Place...
