  • 2s lipo in parallel on humingbird v3

Hi guys I have a humingbird fp V3 that I fly at the indoor meeting at Shepton Mallet.
I've only got the 1 birdseed battery for it but have several kokam 2s1p 360mah packs, now I was wondering if I can parallel these packs up to make a 2s2p pack with a capacity of 420mah has anyone tried this? I fI can do this what is the best way to do it?
    Thanks in Advance

What you will have to do with packs that size is make them into 3s2p packs (7.4 volts is not enough for the Humming bird to fly with I have tried it before), what you will end up with is 2 groups of 3 cells in series, then connect the 2 groups in parrellel to give a you 11.1v 720 mah pack.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

    And a DX8 too

what happens if you fly with to low a voltage on it then mate?
I have tried one 7.4v pack & it flies realy lite but tail didnt hold to well.
Infact tail doesnt hold to well even on the birdseed battery after a few minuets it gets very difficult to hold tail straight the gyro certainly doesnt hold it on its own.

Mine just sort of hung around in ground effect and didn't have any tail power/ climb out at all, however putting an 11.1v lipo on it (which I have since killed by leaving it plugged in and flattening it completely) made it a whole different animal (rapid climb out's, loads of tail power, I even changed to a shorter tail blade as i use to use the elite one's) Only thing was everything get's a bit warm, as it was a 1050 pack, it would fly for 20 mins on it so i split it to 2 ten min flights with a 15 min rest.

Hi, I have the Twister FP and use the RX pack from my T Rex 600. This is just 2 cell 1200mah @ 10c and I find it Ok. just use in doors for my nose in training and find it lasts me for just over 15 mins.

If you have them, give it a try !!!

OK, maybe it was just me then, but you should see them go on 11.1v, you wouldn't want to go back.....

Yes, I bet it did go on 3 cells!!

As said the 7.4 v 2 cell is just right for my winter night indoor hovering training. If your outside and it a little wind the head speed will be a bit low. For that I use the Twister CP but most crashes end with it needing parts, the FP just gets up and flies again !!
