hi every1 i,m new to this site so bear with me, ive got a t rex 450 which i need to get full radio gear for and i,m just wondering if a multiplex mm transmitter will work for this model ,if it can do the relevant mixxing ? currently i have a blade 400 but now unfortunatly a broken dx6 i, ive always liked the multiplex gear and have found a multiplex cocpit mm for a very good price but obviously not sure it will work with my models woald be very gratefull for any help cheers.

Heya and welcome ... Personally if you are thinking of staying in the hobby and can stretch to it then I would buy a DX7 or a FF7 on 2.4ghz... as for the multiplex stuff I know nothing about those models so cant help ....

if those radios are heli as well then you should be able to use them .. if they are planes only then you will have alot more hassle than its worth

First off buddy send the DX6I back to horizon and they will fix for you. What is wrong with the DX6I as horizon may fix it for free.

The DX6I is a good TX for what you want i had one..

Have a look at the hitec aurora it's good value and the receivers are less to buy than spektrum. I love mine and have not looked back :-)

New Hitec could be a good long-term solution. The DX7 is better in many ways than the DX6i, the latter would be an ideal cheap option as a first computer TX. However, if you reckon on longer term, it is worth the extra for the DX7, as I found out!!

Hi, you cant go wrong if you get a spektrum dx7, they are the most popular radio so you can find loads of help for it.. Im from Torquay actually but moved up north a couple of years ago. There are several good pilots in Torquay that im sure would help you out if needed. Newton Abbot Heli Club is great and Stan at Phoenix Model Shop in Newton Abbot has low prices on radio gear.

hi all thanks for your quike replys, i bourght my blade 400 second hand and had a clumsy moment and droped my dx6i so think i woald have to pay for any repairs on that, the dx7 probably woald be a good choice but i want something bit special just cant afford it ha, but idealy i woald get a transmitter that will last me a long time and something i can grow with, just like the multiplex stuff looks very functional, what about if i went down the second route ive got about max 150 for transmitter but want to spend as little as poss, i no cocpit mm is bit basic really givern everything i just said, but i found one for only £30 so was tempted but dont think it supports relevant swashplate mixing anyway, anygood suggestions for something second hand or you still recormend dx7i prob, also any idears for gyro, servos for my trex 450 again a bit of a budget an im a very wobberly flyer appreciate all your advice, tony.

Go up The Ave in Newton, turn right onto Templers Rd then right onto Salisbury RD, its first right into a little car park. Phoenix Model Products. Also check phoenixmp/index for his prices.

The market is contsantly evolving and what you buy today will be old technologhy tomorrow. The DX7 is your best option as it allows you to use your current RX.
70% of the worlds best heli pilots use it or the SE version both of which do the job well for not a lot of money.

                    Hope that helps you decide

As many have said its worth spending on a good Tx if you are intending to stay with the sport, I know there are a few second hand transmitters looking for a new home in the club, it may be worth you popping down to our field over the weekend and see whats about, as well as it being a fountain of knowledge of the sport, and your best local heli club.

Drop me a PM if interested in any of the above, and we can sort out some details.

If you're stuck for money but need a good TX then you could look at 35mhz stuff.

I now it's less popular now but it's still totally usable and alot less money s/h as everyone is upgrading to 2.4. That also means that you won't need tons of crystals as there will only be a handful of club flyers using it.

There are still a few heli flyers at my club on 35mhz and they have no issues with it at all..

DX7 from als hobbies just for the tx + batt will set you back 175 pounds very good price for a very good TX.

there dx6i is only 79.99 but the dx7 is worth the extra pennys

Thanks to unwind-protect on here I discovered Inwoods and went with a DX7 from them. Even less, both DX7 and DX6i.
