One word of warning re storing them in your shed. If you fully charge them in the warm, then store them in the cold of a shed, then the packs will reduce in capacity and effectively become over charged, which is very very dangerous. You might be better off storing them in a metal tin in the house tbh.

what i want to know is person living in a hot place. and as you know the inside of a car gets very hot and even worse keeping it in a hot garage you can only expect the worse. PLus you think about it, how long did he keep it in the car.16 hours ! There must have been a point where the lipo overheated due to the heat at some point

Thank goodness for the lipo bag. I store all mine in lipo bags now and have done for a while.

I suspect as previously mentioned, the heat in the car would have raided the charge in one of the lipos to the point that it self combusted. Not nice - a lesson to us all, thanks for posting.

        Cheers,
        Simon

I have 2 sheds one that does get very warm in the sun and one that has a quarantine tank for my baby koi and a freezer and this is always a nice temp of around 15-18 all year round so i will store then in there in an airtight case.

I never charge my lipos and then store them away, i always leave them in the lipo bag for at least 12 hours before moving to my battery box.
