  • 3d plane

hi folks i know this is a heli forum but i thought i would ask as i quess alot off you fly planes aswell,

he goes i am giving up on helis for a bit because its costing me a fortune, but i want to keep flying so i thought about getting a 3d plane, i have flown wings before(very fast ones) and can do most things that a wing will allow you to do. I would like to get a 3d aerobatic plane something that can be hand launched and robust (electric) and does not cost a bomb, i am looking and the 100 pound mark, any ideas?

    thanks

      Hi,

If you make your own "Faomie" you could get it flying for £40.00 plus reciever, depending on motor choice. Then a new plane willl cost about £3.00 after.. Just strip the gear out of the dead one... They just don't like the wind much..

I've got loads of them, great fun to build and fly. My plank fleet is the crappiest of all the planks at my club! :P

If you want something a bit smaller than the Yak from rctronics (which is a nice plane by the way) have a look at this:-

        FlyingWings

I have one of these (see picture below) & it fly's great on Trex250 packs (850 3S). Easy to build with CA & hot glue.

Finally I would like to recommend these servos, they are almost as good as Hitec HS56 Metal gears but a lot cheaper.
        14g (TP) MG90S - Metal Geared Servo [MG90S] - £6.95 : RCM Direct!, Radio Controlled Models Direct
(might be a bit heavy depending on which plane you choose).

In fact these type of planes are good for using up those suspect Align 410 servos!

              Re The Hydro,

I actually had one of these, & never got it to fly that well.

I would recommend you try to get something made of EPP foam rather than Depron (snappy foam).

I had my first flight with a Wot trainer a week ago but I started out when I was in my teens but never really flew much back then. I did have two raptors but cost a lot to keep each one flyable so down to one rappy now.
