          pics

due to my blade 400 having a broken frame i decided to cut off the broken bit and fit a thunder tiger cobra shell to it . there is quite a lot of work involved but the end result is a good solid fit to a much sturdier blade 400 . as most of you now the thunder tiger and blade are quite similar other than the thunder tigers main gear being higher than the blades and the tail boom being 14mm to the blades 12mm . so really they were the only big problems . anyways heres a few pics otherwise i`ll keep waffling . if you want to know owt just give me a shout .

            Hi Mate

That looks sweet. nice job. I might consider doing something similar to my blade when I move to a bigger heli

Im intrigued by the blades. Did you buy these painted or did you do it yourself.

Ive often wondered about painting blades but wasnt sure how it would effect weight and CoG.

Also intrested on the tail drive and what components and drive system you used to raise the tail rotor

            cheers

yes i did paint the blades myself but i weighed each blade to make sure they were the same and then balanced them useing clearcoat laquer . as for the tail , that comes in the kit but does take some work to get it to fit the blade tail . but when you or if you decide to do it give me a shout and i will be glad to help out .

                Cheers for the info.

I fancy some fluro orange on my blades - may have to try painting on a chepo set I have lying around .

Do you have any pics of the tail system. Im interested in how they transfer the drive from the front gear. Do you use the stcok belt and then tap into that or is it a complete drive system in the kit.

Have you got any links to the fuesalage its certainly one that I would be interested in. Although what I really would like is a british heli. Something like a puma or lynx but they are not popular choices so it would have to be scratch built but cant see that happening for a very long time tho - maybe one day when I retire lol.

the fuselage is pretty readily available just do a search (mini titan cobra kit ) and as for the tail assembly thats all in the kit belt an all .fair price too @ £55 . or a bit more for a ready painted fuse .

Being a fellow Blade(converted in to a 450) flyer always good to see how the Blade can be adapted to use other makes of heli's parts.

                          Nice job baldy !

Did the same myself a while back with my blade, slightly different, bought a angle poised kit from high-torque.co.uk, which worked fine for a while then the belt started to wear out and the tail casing developed a fracture ( couple of hard landings! ), so went back to original stock blade, looked good though. i've just recently put it into an align md500 body, but its a bit heavy, not great on batteries, the cobra is better cos its lighter !

some pic's too ! the sticks on my landing gear were to stop it tipping over on my dodgy landings when i was still just learning , needless to say i'm a little better now & don't need training gear !

Here is a little mod for the tail.

                            Parts used:
                            6mm drill bit
                            2x Flanged Bearings 3x6x2.3mm or 3x6x2.5mm or 3x6x3mm
                            Some washers
1x Trex tail rotor shaft pulley
1x Metal Blade 400 top guide pulley or similar
4x M2x6mm Socket Head cap Screws
