Krikes, great find mate. It's got to be worth a try at that price, only down side is that you wont get the fabulous back up that we have all come to love from Horizon if something goes wrong.

For what it's worth, the radio chipset is a standard off-the-shelf part (and the same as what is used in the Walkera 2.4GHz systems, I believe). I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner!

Why does the photo show what looks like a socket for a satellite receiver but no satellite receiver is apparently included?

True but I didn't think Spektrum 6 channel rx's had satellites? (certainly none that I've seen). And if you did have to buy an additional satellite then it wouldn't really be such a bargain anyway! Just seems odd that there's a socket if no satellite is required.

Unlike an Ar7000.. You can unplug the satellite of an Ar6200 and it will still be fuly functional, but i guess it won't be full range anymore..

Correct, Although.. on my AR7000 i can remove the satellite and it still functions.. Must be running an earlier firmware on the Rx that allows this to happen.

                              Hmm, i didn't know that

The newer firmware allows the quick reboot i think after a brownout, so maybe you want to send yours back to HH for updating Callum..
