  • Lucky crash :P

Yesterday evening was very nice, not a drop of wind and the sun was setting defiently in the west.

Wanted to get up to the local park quickly for a evening flight, being in a rush, i quickly velcro'd the battery in place and headed up the park.

I got up realising i had forgot my canopy , "Oh well", i took off and did some smooth scale flying.

Decided i needed to show off to myself more, and put full left rudder in, the heli span rapidly as fast as it could.

"i quickly velcro'd the battery in place" BIG MISTAKE !, after not bothering to velcro the battery up tight, the battery flew out of the helicopter leaving the helicopter falling freestyle through the sky, i had no control.

Believe it or not, luckily the heli hit the ground on its skids, and tipped over, when i went to approach it i was expecting the worst, but actually, no damage was done at all, nothing was broken or out of place and the battery was also in fine condition.

Plugged the battery back in, TIGHTEND THE VELCRO and off i went to finish my evening flight.

Never tried flying without a battery.... i reckon it would be a bit tail heavy...

Had the same thing happen to me last year, although i had the canopy on and the battery slide forward making the heli go into a sprial of death.

Main frame, blades, usual suspects fth shaft, main shaft etc etc

You got off very good, just make sure you by a lotto ticket this weekend.
