Well a lesson learned for me today, concentrate the whole time, in the pits and when flying.
I ended up damaging the motor in my 600 today because I was talking and over filled the tank, causing a hydraulic lock. No biggy I thought. tried to turn it over a couple of times using the starter with the fuel off but it was not having it so I unscrewed the plug and tried again. Pulsed the starter a couple of times and there was a metalic 'ping' and then it free'd up. Great I thought but the 'ping' did concern me. Anyway put the plug back in and then when I went to prime it before starting the motor is making a ticking noise as it turns over
I can only think I have broken the piston ring or something but I am also thinking that something may have been on it's way out as a simple hyro lock should not have damaged it... so maybe it saved a larger bill if it had failed in flight.
So what should have been a great days flying turned into two 5 mins flights with the 500 to start breaking in some new lipos.
Anyway lesson learned and I'll strip it down tomorrow to see whats happened after a few beers tonight
Cheers
