  • New 2D Forum?

Just wondering how many would join such a forum? I'm very good at moving my heli from left to right, forwards and backwards but I'm not so great at going up and down (other than during take-off and landing).

We could launch our own 2D Championships, with disciplines such as:
    • Best home made training gear
    • Most creative use of sticky tape to repair a heli
    • How far away can you land from where you'd actually planned to land
    • Most number of unforced touch-downs during a hover

We could have a special award called the "Newcomer that offers the least sound advice medal". I'd be in the running for this!

p.s. this thread is meant to be light hearted...

If anybody crashed, but the heli went upside down, would that count as 3D and they would be disqualified?

Martin, what a great idea. How about

            1. Most number of replacement parts need in one unplanned 'landing'
            2. Most number of crashes in one session 'before' leaving the ground
            3. Most expensive damage caused to a garden ornament
            4. Most number of heli's taken to flying field a without being able to get even one of them off the ground

            My answers so far are:

In my 18 months of trying to fly these things so far, I recon I must be in the running in all of these categories

Oh my, that must be some kind of record.

I once went to the field with a nitro heli and could not get the engine started. I spent a good couple hours and finally gave up in disbelief (I later discovered the problem but it was baffling at the time)

We could book the adjacent field to the 3D Champs and have our own competition

We could put up high fences so that the expert can't see us & laugh!

Then, we could get an 'Edders' on the PA system & put out a whole load of bull about how well we are doing. " Higher, higher," etc

Great idea Martin. Sign me up.

Fantastic idea, Martin. Put me down for the comp.

By the way, do you get a special award if you enter, then can't find the venue?

                          • The amount of times the flybar has been bent back to shape.

                          • The worst blade tracking - without even realising.
