  • 450 Problem any ideas

I was out with the 450 last it was fine at first then it started cutting out for split second battery was getting bit low so I changed it.
On the second battery after minute it got worse losing all power it cuts in and out so quick.
I have checked the battery and wiring all ok it did this before but had change the timing on the esc so I put it back and it was fine.
Now it doing it again not sure if its esc or motor problem.

    Any ideas?

When it is cutting in and out it is the battery protection part of the ESC, it means that the battry is low voltage.
It would sound like either they were not fully charged or that the batteries are on there last legs
Never discharge a lipo more than 80% of its capacity, otherwise it will kill them, i.e. if the battery is 2200mah, never use more than 1760 mah on a flight.

I Agree. If wiring is okay (I had a dodgy 4mm bullet connector on my 450 that caused the same problem once) then you need to try a battery that you know is good. After that, you really ought to be looking at the ESC and I'd recommend borrowing one fom someone if possible to understand if changing it helps.

I presume your tx/rx radio connection is sound?

They where both fully charged i get 4.20v on each cell after 6mins flying i have 3.74 -3.72 on the cells.
Could it be that I have the volts but not the power (amps)how can i check the amps after flying.

        Cheers

If you Lipos are OK then it ......

could be a bad solder joint breaking down when it gets warm in the ESC or motor or anywhere really.

could be a frayed wire rubbing on a frame somewhere..

could be a problem with the motor..

                Take your pick...

I hate electronics when they start playing up.

                good luck tracing it

The 00024 figure in the bottom right on the first pic is the milliamps put back into the pack so this figure should read no more than 80% of the capacity of your pack at the end of charging.

You're charging at 2.1 amps so I'm assuming your packs are 2100mah (1C charging) capacity so your 80% is 1680. If you are putting more than this back in on every charge then you're over working your packs and they may be damaged.

I had a bad 3S pack and it appeared to charge and balance OK but it never delivered it's power and the ESC on my plane want into power cut mode when I tried to apply full throttle. Changed the pack and all was good again.

looking at the pitures bottom right hand corner 00024 i presume thats the amperes its put back into the battery and in 3 mins roughly was this a fully charged pack to begin with,

if so thats about right, need to start looking elsewhere, like somebody said earlier borrow a known good battery if it still does eliminate each electronic component in turn until you find the problem

sorry cant be much help apart from this

was these are fully charged battery or used if used for a flight i would expect to see 1600 or near to this figure if you are not over working your batterys...........oh and a bit more time as well
