started yesterday afternoon with my daughter failing her secound driving test, i was convinced she would pass this time but one stupid mistake and she has to try again,
then it was time for indoor club, so me and me mate goes, remember the other day i told you about the esky i bought off ebay that didnt work anyway i sent it back and got a full refund, i then bought a secound hand twister after seeing it fly, set it up at the club and guess what the bloody thing wouldn't work,no one could get it going they think the esc is gone, but i saw it flying yesterday, ok out with the msr and one of the servo's was playing up(took the little washer of the top of it to free it up then spent about 3/4 of an hour trying to get the thing back on,eventually did but it aint working right(i think he's had his last flight ,rip msr and thanks) ok mate sets up his neon blaize and the tail motor packs up. now my turn to fly the blade400, and i am thinking i don't want to do this tonight but that passed of without incident

You can replace the servo board in the MSR as a spare, and sounds like not the best day in the world, this hobbie has its moments thats sure.
A couple time i have gone to the field with 3 helis and ended up not being able to fly as i have had technical dificulties with all of them, the way it goes sometimes

I hope thats not what you said to her.

As for the one mistake and she failed what if she had done that when she was alone? Remember its a test to see if shes safe. I amazes me no end when parents look at the cost of lessons and tests and moan etc. (not saying your are).

My answer is how much is your son/daughter worth and how much for a new life.......

She can go again and will probably pass if she had a low number of faults and one serious and has learned from the mistake Better that than get lucky, pass and then die a fortnight later.

Tell her to relax and treat it just like a lesson.

i think you are taking what i am saying right out of context, yes i did tell her i was disappointed for her and i was surprised she failed, that is because i truely felt she was ready to take the test and would be safe on the road(better then a lot of jerks who are already on it) i take her out a few times every week in her car and her driving instructor takes her out a few times, she felt she was ready as well. don't tell me if you had a son or daughter taking a driving test you would want them to fail. i wasn't critising the system or the fact she failed but it was still disappointing to see her upset , and yes i would rather they stayed safe above all else, but i will support my children i whatever they want to do and alwys want them to do well. so i remain disappointed, not at anyone or anything

Actually no, I read into it what you had just said after my reply, thats the trouble with forums. Its hard to convey context.

Then I made a comment in general making the point that I was not referring to you specifically and then suggested an approach to the test that may help.

as you say that is the trouble with forums, because i didnt like the way i read you reply, having said that maybe you read too much into me saying one stupid mistake, there is a bit of luck involved when taking a driving test (depending on what other drivers around you do) , in her case i feel she was unlucky, what happened is she was approaching a roundabout indicating to turn right(3rd exit which is a single lane) it was a busy roundabout, she pulled onto the roundabout safely and proceded round, the car behind her got on the roundabout and changed lanes immediately to the left hand lane(she thought he changed his mind to go straight on he then pulled aalong side her but then decided to go round the roundabout leaving her no where to go,the options she had was to speed up and get in front (which is what she done as she was more then 1/2 car lenght in front her words not mine) or stop and hold traffic up on the roundabout or continue on around again and possibly cause an accident to the cars who would be getting on the roundabout, split decision and whatever she choose would of been wrong. if the other driver had done the roundabout properly and kept in the correct lane behind her, she would of passed. as she only had 2 minors

Indeed she sounds like she was very unlucky, Having said that 2 minors is very good. Pity the other driver cant see the learner and give a little space and time.

I know , Maybe we can mark here car up, say with a white square and a red 'L' for learner, then maybe he could be more curtious.......

She'll be fine, just a pity its a bit more time and money for her as some idiot cant drive properly.

agreed, she is getting a phoebia about roundabouts, she failed first time on a roundabout with a major, that time was her fault only and she knew it, so everly time i take her out now it will be every roundabout i can think of until she can do them with her eyes shut(actually thats how she failed first time so better not)
