  • Bent your mainshaft impressively? Post a pic!

    Hi All,

Managed to bend my mainshaft at the weekend, pretty impressed with the destruction, highlights just how much energy is stored in a heli. I can't imagine how much force i would have to put in if i wanted to bend a new mainshaft this shape in a vice.

Anyway, i thought with the amount of gravity gusts we have on site, there must be some pretty impressive displays of carnage, so if you have a pic, get it posted!

Here's mine, aswell as the main bend you can see in the photo, the top part were the head bolts on is banana'ed and twisted aswell as the big bend. JR Vibe 50 hollow steel mainshaft.

    Thanks

    Matt

Thats nothing, my Beam E4 used to do that in flight

Took a while for the hardend shafts to come out.

Tell me about it Paul! It did it first flight when I owned it!

It is amazing though. If you tried to bend it like that while still in the heli, I bet you'd break the frame doing it.

Maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all!

i recummend this tool to anyone learning to fly or learning 3d moves it really helps to take the fear out of flying knowing you can fix your heli yourself in minuints!

They were top banana when the hardened ones were out, but cost me a fortune in blades until they released them. Will be trying 4s on the Pro within the next couple of weeks, so ill see how my mainshaft holds up :S
