I still have my first ever helicopter - a Morley Bell47.
The engine was started for the first time at 8:15pm on 31st August 1987.
Little success on my part and a few crashes later it was put on the shelf.
Almost 23 years later it has been totally overhauled and will shortly fly again, at which time I will be remembering a great British pioneer.

            Rest in peace Jim

Was sorry to hear this news, I remember Jim at a number of the early Fun Fly-ins like Woburn . He was always most helpful and informative.

This is sad news, Jim Morley was a lovely character and I well remember him at the fly-ins especially the very first ones I went to many years ago. Indeed I think he was present at last years MK Helicopter club fly-in.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, may his memory live on in the form of the models he designed and loved.

Extreemly sad news, Jim was a real friend and will be very missed.
I was in the loft the other day getting ready for our house move next week and found the original drawings that i did for him and my first ever trophy for best Morley, a cut down Bell 47G rotor blade, only goes to make it harder.
I shall remember him fondly and will attend his funeral on the 17th.
our thoughts and prayers go to his family at this sad time.

If today most of us are in this hobby is because of pioneers like Jim.
Thank you for all you done for the rc community.
