  • which lipo charger to buy???

    Hi Guys,

Im considering getting a new charger in the next few weeks and would like to know your thoughts about whats on the market at the moment.

However i do want to be able to plug the charger directly in the 220v and not have a separate power supply. And to be honest something that will really look after my batteries as i am going to spend some money in the near future on new packs.

Maybe the option to charge two packs at once??

    Budgets about 100 ish-150ish.

Im considering the Fusion Eclipse L61B Pro Charger

please let me know your thoughts

      Heliboy,

You have a budget of up to £150. You might want to think about the following set up which is what I use.

The advantage is that you can charge up to 4 lipos at once. I got a dual output power supply because I originally had two of the IMAX B6's one of which broke and the other I keep as a spare now. The power supply is fine for the Lipro Quad charger as its max charging rate is 5 amps for each of the 4 ports.

      The set up:

Power supply (up to 20 amps) £39 at Channel 4 Models:
      Pro-Peak Power Supply 20A-13.8V Twin Output - channel4models.com

Charger - £108 from Pegasus: Pegasus Models

Because this charger can put out up to 5 amps per port I can charge 4 of my 3s 11.1v 2200 "rapidcharge" lipos at 4.4 amps and all 4 are re-charged in less than 35 minutes. My 6s lipos will only charge at the max rate of 5 amps which is fine for me and the fact that I can have any combination of lipos on charge at any one time is great.

This may not be the most comprehensive set up but it works really well and I think would give you a great deal of flexibility and you are unlikely to need to change it for some time.

      Hope this helps!

      Cheers,

Heard good things about this one.

Would definitely be on my short list if I was in the market for a new charger at the moment

worth looking at as well , off corse its down to your needs the above are good choices , so hears some more to consider, cellpro 10s is a good unit still very usable but showing its age a bit , but has a new big brother . both do need psu .

Obviously it needs a power supply, but everyone talks highly about Cellpro chargers.

I notice you have had this setup for a little while and would be interested to get your opinion on it and if you would go this route if doing it again.

I am in the process of looking for a setup and really like the look of this.

Anyone elses opinions with the Lipro Quad 6 also greatly appeaciated.

Was it also necessary to go for this PSU due to the recommended 20-30A for the L Q 6 as I have been looking at the Fusion PSU's, but they all seem to be 15A max for the units upto £40.00.

                    I would be mainly charging 3s Lipo's

                    Thanks
                    Alan

Cheers Paul, although it has taken me ages to try and norrow it down this far - confused enough

Just trying to get my head round all the options.

Is the iMAX QUATTRO B6 the same as a Lipro Quad 6?

Which is better out of the 2 does anyone know after sales, build quality etc...

I can get the iMAX for £95 although it appears to normally be priced higher than the Lipro which is £108 cheapest seen.
