I dont know about running away, it looked a casual stroll away with no sense of remorse shown. I hope they given the same "lack of respect" when they are taken to court and punished.

Simple it's a crime in the same way leaving the scene of an RTI is. They should have fessed up when it happen. The thing is its more than likely they are a members of at least one of the regular forums.

Er, was there any evidence that the guys shown were the ones involved in the incident, and not just some other people turning up to fly on the park?

What a terrible story and I hope the girl recovers quickly.
I do have a question on something I don't understand. At the very end of the video the reporter states the guys left "after" the ambulance left and that their cameraman recorded them leaving. Now I am not by any means trying to take away from the girls injuries or defend these guys in anyway at all. So please keep that in mind.
It takes time for an ambulance to arrive
It takes time for a news crew to arrive.
One has to assume that the cops would have come too? Most times they even get there first.
It takes time to be treated and placed into an ambulance
All this happened and then they guys left after all this time? It just confues me about how no one on the scene cops, reporters, ambulance medics, got a name or number in ALL that time? Whats missing?
AGAIN do not think I am defending. I am not! I am just curious about the story a bit.
"Anger and Frustration bring the best out of my flying ability.. because generally I don't give a shit either if the machine hit's the deck or stay's in the air - both will accomplish satisfaction, but most of all it exerts the feeling of flying conservatively. - Callum" www.callumheli.co.uk

I just read that and was actually going to post it as well. We shouldn't forget how the media love to sensationalise everything and it's certainly not unheard of for them to spice up a few details in order for it to be a more exciting story.
Perfect example of why you dont fly so close to people, seriously you need to be a complete moron or inexperienced or a prima donna to fly these things in a way to put people in danger, or at least completely inconsiderate of other peoples wellbeing.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Could just be news people getting confused between the people who did it, and other people who came to fly and then left.

The people carrying the heli are carrying at least one crashed heli (looks like a T-Rex 600). However, this is Fox News we're talking about, which is the Daily Mail of television news (i.e. sensationalistic and seldom accurate and usually given an "angle" - this is the same news organization that says public health care, aka the UK NHS, is a breeding ground for terrorism!)
But yes, a reminder why flying a heli around non-participants is generally a pretty terrible idea.
Just checked what's being said on Runryder, and Finless Bob had posted this:
OK so here are the facts jack.....
The pilot that struck the girl Maresa did flee the scene and provided no information. In the news report the end, the guy not wearing a shirt is the one that called 911. Today the police traced that 911 call and talked with him and he provided police with the information on who the pilot was. Michelle said the police will be talking to her tomorrow and provide her the name of the person. She plans to press charges. She also said the police plan to charge the individual as well since it is illegal to fly RC at that park.
Now regarding the donations. Michelle said the military covered the medical expenses through insurance but Michelle does not get paid when she has to take off work to haul her daughter back and for to the doctor. So she said she will accept any donations to help her out there and she really thanks all of us for our concern. She had no idea there was a large group of people out there that fly RC helicopters and that would care enough to even contact her. I told her that there were thousands that her about this and felt terrible about it and were very concerned.
So matthewspokane, if you want to continue your donation fund feel free, I will provide you Michelle's address as she does not have paypal. I will speak with her again tomorrow. matthewspokane I will PM you her phone number for now.
In case their is a problem identifying the pilot, the tx used could I'm sure be traced from the bind info in the rx as each 2.4Tx has a unique identifier that cannot be user reset.
