Had a lucky escape today. Did a flip with my 700 FBL and as it was inverted the engine cut!!! I calmly just flipped it back the right way up and autoed it down. I did chip my brand new tail blades though
When I restarted it, it kept cutting at about 1/3 throttle. I tried about 5 times, but every time it cut at about 1/3 throttle. One of our club members suggested that the mixture was too rich so leaned both jets off but still no joy. Another club member then suggested a new glow plug. So as my mate was changing the glow plug, he noticed that I'd left a small silica gel pack on top of the carb.
I always leave the gel packs on the carb when I store my 700's in the garage to keep out the moisture.
Lesson learnt!!! I felt a right numpty!!!
