  • PUMP or GRIND

    Hi Guys,
A question on Fuel Pumps, I have got my Flight Box all neatly set out with its own fuel container etc which was originaly fitted with an Irvine elec pump which leaked !!, according to the instructions I should have fitted it the other way up I bought another and fitted it - it leaked !! In a previous box I had a prolux pump - It Leaked !!

I could'nt be done with any more messing about so I went for a Prolux Fast Fuel Hand Crank, used it about a dozen times and guess what......Yep it Leaks around the joint and considering the amount of airtime i get its hardly over use.!! I cant be the only one with this problem .

So my question is what do you guys use/prefer and is there a cost effective way of transferring fuel ?

I've got the prolux hand pump and sure enough it leaked but it was from around the nipples, put tie wraps around them and it's been good as gold for over a year. I never really got on with the battery pumps, use, leak, use, leak. I think the only real alternative is the Slimline Sl2000, but at £50 or so it's an expensive way to got. There are guys in the club have had these years.

yeah... there's something quite satisfying about a good, slow, controlled, pressure-building crank....

I use a hand pump, had it 3 years and it still going strong! The only thing i dont do is let Raptorheli2 near it as he is notorious for breaking the damn things
