Hi All
Just to share my experience today and to ask if anyone has any ideas on my last crash....(two and a half today)
Took the day off as the sun was shinning and no wind. I've had a bit of a crashing streak recently, so have only my just rebuild 500 and 600 to fly. Anyway, I have 19 packs for the 600 and was determined to get through the lot...About 5 packs in the tail stopped mid flight during a chaos tic toc funnel (lol not really - I wish
), so I did managed to auto it down doing one hell of a piro, landed skids down so very happy - more luck than anything else. Turned out that the screws holding the tail together came out on one side.... (my son insisted on rebuilding the tail for me - or thats my excuse anyway
). A few bolts later and back to flying.
Pack after pack went the 600 and I loved the flying, it was enough flying time to try something new and then get to grips with it....great! roll on pyro flips.
The motor was getting really hot on the 600 so I thought I would give it a rest and fly the 500FBL, which was flying great except for the tail. I had a BLS257 handy so I thought I would try that - except I forgot to put the tail servo arm screw in and it came out half way through the second flight and this time I could not save it.....one seriously damaged 500 later I went back onto the 600.
I was getting tired but only had two packs to go, so put the second to last pack in and was doing some inverted hovering in front of me when I lost control. Yes, the heli stayed hovering inverted for ages whilst I was madly pushing sticks, hitting throttle hold etc etc and nothing was happening!!!!!!!! I was just standing there shouting at the people watching me to take cover and just watched helplessly as the heli slowly slid towards us and then hit the ground, still at full power WTF ??????? One seriously destroyed heli. I then plugged the battery back in jut to check, and everything seems to work okay !
How is this even possible?
Ah well, I still had a blinding day and nearly went though all of my packs for the first time in one session!
