  • Petrol Prices

Just had this e-mail, not a bad idea.

    Worth thinking about?
The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, the oil companies
have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything
as they rake in extra VAT for every increase.

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it

We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced
with paying 1.50 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day
campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't
    continue to hurt ourselves by
refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a
problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan
    that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to
think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action
to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the
price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we
hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do
that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest
oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and
    BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their
prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to
follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of
Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at
least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten
more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the
sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION
consumers! If those three million get excited
    and

pass this on to ten friends each, then 30
million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you
    guessed it... ...

    THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not
buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this
email out to ten more people within one day of receipt,

all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next
8days!!! Acting together we can make a
difference . If this makes sense to
you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR
PRICES TO THE 90p a LITRE RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just
forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys,
Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso.

    All the best STEVE.

Esso`s refinery(where they make their money) in the new forest supplies all the gas, petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, bitumin, etc for nearly all of the Souths fuel needs including Morrisons,Asda,Shell, the list goes on.

even the BP fuel depot in Southampton is piped from Esso once they have refined it.

I would not mind betting if Esso sacked all their forecourt staff, closed the petrol stations down and sold the land they would make even more money.

All the petro chem companies work together for instance the BP wytch farm oilfield in Dorset extracts the oil which is pumped directly to the Esso refinery at Fawley for refining.

All this does is hit the guys who paid out to buy an Esso or BP petrol station franchise. The companies do not directly own most of the petrol stations and they do supply fuel to many of the alternatives that you'd be buying from.

Net effect would be to kill a lot of small businesses with limited impact on the real target.

This proposal has been going around for a few years now.

I agree. Even if everyone in the UK stopped buying fuel for their cars for ever the big oil company's wouldnt give a toss, we're a small backwater to them who just give them a bit of beer money. If they're not selling oil here they'll just sell it to the USA & China.

The oil companies have to invest billions into finding oil, pumping it out of the ground, refining it and transporting it to the UK. And for doing all that they charge about 28p. Which isn't too bad really. The government then load it up with their cut, they stick on 80p for doing f**k all.

Its the scum in Downing Street we need to teach a lesson!

But we wont have a tear up cause its just not British, we'll bitch about it on RC heli forums for a while and carry on paying cause we love getting shafted!

Do you think this would happen on the continent?

Spot On, I bet the people in Chevron Texaco's Marketing Department are having a good laugh as this viral mail continues.

The bulk of fuel costs in the UK are tax, Fuel Tax - PetrolPrices.com.

I was going to say if you want change then use your vote, however they'll probably all raise fuel tax as it's an easy hit.

When they reduced VAT last year to try and stimulate growth, they put up the special petrol duty so that fuel prices remained constant.

However, when VAT went back up again a few weeks back, they *didn't* reduce the special fuel tax back down again!

                        Yet another stealth tax!

What we need are a few politicians and bankers heads on pikestaffs outside the Tower of London.

Maybe then they'd get the message.......

Yesterday I went to a garage, I use when I can, an old boy comes out and fills the car for you, we had the usual chit chat, and talked about the price of fuel, I joked that the garage, must be raking it in, no he said, the garage makes 1.97 pence per litre on petrol, and 3 pence per litre on diesel, the price for the diesel was about £1.18 a litre, the government takes 78p per litre, that leaves 37p for the oil company, which I think is fair considering the cost of, getting it to the surface, refining, and distribution, its the outright greed, of the nasty horrible, lazy vermin, that make up the government, that needs that needs fixing, and the way to that is very simple, all it would take is enough people, to park there cars, one Monday morning, on the M25 in both directions, and refuse to move, until the filth was removed from office, and a new lot put in place, who would represent the average bloke and women of our country....

No that wouldnt work, they'd just start towing them and charging a fortune for release, nicking people, fining them and the scum just makes more money. They've created a system where by the people with nothing to lose and the most likely to riot are happy, they've got their free flats, hoodies, Special Brew & Gyros. The government f**k us up the a**e with the rough end of a pineapple cause they know we cant riot, we've got money, houses, cars and savings and if we step out of line they'll take it all off us!

Our peaceful protests are just a joke to the government, they laugh while they carry on counting the cash, how many petitions, petrol station boycotts and angry letters have they responded to so far? None! None at all, nothing changes. We're just cash cows.

Until we're prepared to have a full scale riot, start throwing bricks & bottles and fight them in our millions then we might as well just grease up and bend over, cause whoever wins the next election is gonna have a lot of pineapples!
