  • What are G10 Frames?

    Seen frames for various helis as being 'G-10 Frames'. Whats that then, if thats not a numpty question?

      Thanks, Looking at that site, its seems to be the same stuff as the good quality PCB boards I use.

      I assume though that Carbon Fibre is the heli pilots true friend.

        G10 is basically the same as pcb material. It's a cheaper, slightly heavier alternative to carbon, which in my experience is just as strong as carbon frames.

          Yes carbon is the must have frame but like all things there is acceptable and quality carbon and G10, if possible check how flexible the side frames of a model are look to see how many layers of fibre there are in it rather like looking at the edge of a sheet of plywood to check how many ply there is, also how many directions the fibre is layed within it all of this adds to the stiffness and strenght of the carbon and G10 sheet and its cost of course
