  • Bad day!!! Learnt my lesson!

Got a bit confident yesterday and it ended in disaster. Binned my trex 250 and beam e4. Decided it was time to try some inverted flying as I play about doing loops and flips. Both times ended in crashes! On a good note then got the 700 out and flew without any misshaps! But didn't try anything silly just normal flying.

Videos to follow! Inc all crashes ! Bits all ordered £70 across both helis!

The 250 and 450 were the last two heli's i tried it with....cracked on the sim,i went and did it 1st time with the 500.....then the 600esp and both nitro's....when i did my first with a 450 after plenty of practice it was ugly

If you've nailed it on the sim,get the 700 downside up,it will be so much easier

I can do it on the sim quite happily, still not brave enough to face the repair bill for the 700 if it went wrong though. Where as the 250 and Beam dont sting as much

I read the title and thought you may have put your 700LE in

Thats not too bad a repair bill for 2 heli's

thats a very resonable bill considering how much the parts are on the beam.

I find inverted hovers on the 450 a bit hit & miss, I can flip it over and hover for a few seconds then have to dive back out. The 500 is a bit easier, more stable and mostly stays where its put so I am more comfortable with it. But once I'd strapped on a pair and gone for it with the 600 it was easy, the only unerving thing is just how easy it was! My brain kept screaming do something! But you dont need to, it just sits there with only tiny corrections.

Also you have the peace of mind in knowing if you do get a bit wayward you can just punch it out fast and high and get it sorted out at a safe height.

It seems to me you are struggling to catch it as you flip it over, try doing a stall turn, then as it tops out of the climb, input the elevator to get it upside down, you then have not got the heli moving fast through the air. to get back simply forward elevator to push the nose away from you and back the right way up. remember height is your friend

LOL, love your mate at the beginning

Nice work though mate. Keep it up and you will get there.

I also agree with the others, the bigger the heli, the more stable it becomes
                          Thanks, Chris
