  • Concept Copters 500 FBL

    Hi All

Went flying today in the high winds with my CC500FBL (Align 3G) and had a WKD time :-)

I have toyed with a few FBL units, and to be honest, I don't have the time to tweek, program and tweek some more, so I was super impressed that the 3G went onto the CC500 easily, and only tweeked the pots once.

It flys awesome! I built it as a demonstrator, but I think that I am buying it myself now - I am totally convinced by this ALIGN FBL thing now.

My 600ESP was really hard to fly in the wind, the CC500FBL was sooo much easier.

Just wanted to share my new found love

      Hi

Well, its a CC500 with the Align 3G kit, so it has the Align FBL head.

        Re: Concept Copters 500 FBL

It looks so damn good the whole fbl head and if it was not for a sticky coke stained throttle stick I would have enjoyed it more lol.

You did certainly have fun but it missed one thing.........

        fumes hahahahah lol

Ahem! Thats Coke as in Cola. And yes my young 'un spilt some coke on the throttle stick, so despite stripping, cleaning etc I now have a very sticky stick, if you know what I mean.

                    Gareth,
Where did your gains end up, and where have you mounted the sensor ??.

Are you running the 3D blades which concept copter sell ??. I'd be interested to find out how well it went, did you have any elevator bobbles ??, or pitching up in flight ??.

Might be worth trying a set of those blades as I think the Align carbons are a bit too light.
                    Cheers,
                    Simon

                      Hi Simon

Blades are Radix non stick bangers - we stock these as well. For some reason the 3D blades did not work well.

The sensor is mounted on the gyro plate right way up, and the setting are slighty higher than stock.

Flight: No pitching at all during flight, however pitch pumps make it wobble a bit on the elevator and tic tocs are fine, but at each hard stop the heli wobbles a bit. I think I have the elevator gain up a bit too much, but it is such a small movement that it does not worry me as it always returns to where it should be right away. I will turn the elevator gain down a bit and let you know...

All in all, it out flies an FB heli, so I am really happy.

                      Gareth

Do you know the weight of the Radix blades ??.

My sensor is mounted on the bottom plate, and strapped down. My gain of the elevator is about 9 o'clock, but the model still wobbles slightly on the elevator in the hover and fast foerward flight (got plenty of head speed). It can aslo get a bit sensitive of the elevator if carrying a lot of speed.

What % are you running on your swash mixes ??.
                          Cheers,

Glad to hear it is going well gareth, my lads are nagging me to get a FBL system for there 500 but i have said no at the moment until my youngest improves.
Just as a note, bar proper FBL blades, on my 700 the standard radix were by far the best of the rest
