  • I bloomin did it.

As usual got back from work had food [I remember a post saying dont go out flying on an empty stomach lol].
So set my self up, took of with first battery and after a few minutes I switched Elev on and flew with 100% d/r, got a bit carried away and was literally a few inchs from the ground to ditching. I think it was phoenix flying that came into practice at that point and saved me well.
Flew a few more batteries flicking on idle up and Elev doing side on with them and half circuits etc.

On the last but one battery I kept flicking the heli forth and back to gain a little info on the roll rate.
Then came the last battery, got up high and hovering there I decided to go for it and recalled alot of things from phoenix just incase it goes wrong, flicked it backwards and few inverted for a few seconds, I had the biggest grin going, legs were ok but I could feel my heart pumping like mad.

Then it was time to try a roll, went for it and bloomin did it, I was gobsmacked and tried a second just to make sure it wasnt a fluke and rolled it backwards again.
Timer went and came into land, took the battery out and just kneeled there with my head in my hands, a great feeling.
Another boost was it was actualy really windy and I still went for it, think im going a little mad.

Nice one!!!!!!!! I generally always fly the 600N in IDLE 1, flicking the switch after the gov has kicked in and stabilized. Not a big deal is it, now that you have done it!!!!!!

          Well done m8
Just goes to show. If you can do it in Phoenix, you can do it for real, which is encouraging for me as I can certainly do it in Phoenix. I just haven't had the b**ls to try it for real yet.

Its not mate , im a little edgy at first when trying new things like this because im not sure how the heli will respond coming out of say a roll or piro but as soon as ive done one and know more or less the crack then im fine .
At the moment I have no real need to fly idle up, but I switch it now and again for a change .

            cheers tiddler.
I can do a few things in phoenix aswell, but like you say its having the nerve to do it in real life, id been thinking about it for days and kept going over the routine in my head I know its only a roll but still .
Anyways I always say just go for it, whats there to loose.

            Thanks weebl

To an extent yes lol, its just those mini seconds inbetween starting something new and finishing it.

I lost about half the height on the second go but didnt cause me to panic which im happy with, I need to grease up on them in real life and i'll be fine.

                        EDITED:
It was an invert and then as I said in the OP, I opted to try the roll afterwards.
