One thing that happened a servo on a heli I haven't flown yet, is that the servo arm started to slip on the servo shaft. I thought the servo was faulty but soon realised the servo was working correctly but the arm wasn't moving and I replaced the servo arm. (But if this had happened then I'd think the crash would not break the arm if it was already able to slip so easily).

The only thing I'm thinking about the heli losing pitch is that I would think the blades would have a tendency to go to zero pitch rather than into negative, so it would seem if the collective arm let go you'd get a descent but not a slamming into the ground.
So i have no idea then what caused the crash then

The servo horn on the pitch is still tight!!

Well, I'm just trying to imagine what would happen if the collective servo arm broke or came off. It would just seem that if the heli was in a hover the pitch would not suddenly go massively negative. It's just a guess but the two reasons are that I would think the strongest force involved would be the blades trying to naturally return to zero pitch and secondly, the pitch arm would have a tendency to go down because it has the weight of the ail servo on it, and if it pushed down it would be adding some positive pitch.

But this is just a guess.

In a hover there wouldn't be that much torque on the servo arm so it's odd for it to break. I tend to think it more likely got broken in the crash.

Im swaying that way also, i think maybe a link came off or something.

If i try to replay it in my mind, it seemed to come down very quickly, but i expect it would still come down quick at zero pitch (possibly).

Will just have to rebuild and see what happens i guess.

Yes, check everything thoroughly and re-build. I've snapped a few servo horns in my time but always on impact, never in flight. I just can't imagine generating enough force in flight to break one unless it was already badly damaged or weakened in some way.

Took it to Fastlads this morning to get the new bits and pieces, they gave it the once over an think its fine, so it must have been the head.

Will rebuild VERY carefuly and check everything again.

On a plus though, the new engine and pipe from Trillian is going in it when it arrives, so it should fly a lot better
