I'd say don't buy that type - the beeper is very quiet - so useless in flight.

The kind you want has the loudspeaker trumpet moulded into side of beeper, they are superb.

This is the one I have £2.30 delivered and it works superbly - VERY LOUD INDEED ! So loud on my 450 its unbearable in flight (flew a cheap pack and thought I'd ignore the beeper and see if lipo warmed up a bit - too screechy for that).

If you want something you're going to hear, and is light and will protect your lipos...

HRPOLY-X is the way to go. It's quite expensive but the best on the market imo.

That looks like the same one I have. I can usually hear it but I have been using it stuck inside the canopy so might be a bit more audible on the frame somewhere, but yeah 'could be louder, especially if there is any background noise.

That looks the biz. It also has user-defined voltage settings (a bit more pricey however).

            Thanks James,
Yeah, I had seen that one but didn't realise it had a different buzzer till you pointed it out, and if its as loud as you say, its gotta be worth that little bit extra

It does indeed, so small and lightweight it is the perfect match for smaller helis.

A bit pricey, I used them since my 450SE v1 and IIRC they were only £12 back then. I still think they're worth the money though, alarm is replaceable too

That certainly does look like a goodun.
Something to keep in mind if I ever get to use any of the more expensive packs perhaps.

Definitely worth pushing the boat out for £2.30 I'd say ;-)

My top tip is to put your finger over the 'loudspeaker' when plugging it into your lipo - it 'beeps' when it powers up, and it takes your ears off otherwise !!

If you find it too loud (ie in the house for discharging), if you put a bit of stickytape over the horn end it really quietens it down, and can easily be pulled off for flying with.

I have probably bought every lipo alarm/monitor out there, and this is by far the best so far, I have the 4S version as well which has two beepers for use in fog ;-)

I have not used one on my 250 or 450 but have started using one on my (Shhh) power-glider.. I got this one FREE with an order off Falconrcs but he sells them for £3.75..

                    Battery Monitors

I can hear this from inside the fibreglass fuse whilkst flying so I know its LOUD!

Should you need one on a heli main pack tho? I land well before the lvc?? Maybe on a nitro to make sure the rx pack is good...

                      Hi mate

Having owned one can you explain how you set the low cut off voltage on this device. Is it a switch on the unit or is it done via a computer connection.
Want to put one on my RC car as the esc has no low voltage cut off built in and id rather have a device that triggers above the 3V limit that the other units seem to operate at

                      Cheers
