I put a posting up about pitch curves the other day, so anyone should have seen this one comming
Upto now I've had the Normal mode set up as per the book, ie
PC -2,5,10, TC 0, 48.5, 76, 90, 100
Works ok, and I get a 6 minute run with 20% of the battery running.
I changed the pitch curve to be -2,0,10 but left the TC the same.
Obviously the revs went up....there really is an iphone app for everything and HeliTach read 3010 rpm. This made the model somewhat lively - I wouldn't be comftable practising my nose in hovering like that, but interestingly 6 minutes completly flattened the battery. I was expecting the battery life to go up as the motor would be doing less work.
I wound the throttle settings down by 15% - to 0, 35, 60, 75, 85 and the model became more managable, and the battery life went back up to 6 minutes only using 80%
Thats ok, and a quick surf on t'internet, that seems to be not untypical settings, but if I have idle 1 set to 100,95,90,95,100 won't there be a harsh jump between the two?
Thanks,
