  • Which association poll

Would like to know your prefference
    regarding model flying associations.
Realy want to know how many have joined
the rcha as opposed to the bmfa and what
    insurance option you took.
It's a closed poll so nobody can see who did or who
didnt so please be honest with your vote.
It's most definately not meant to be anything
but a bit of fun so no more argueing, were all
helicopter maniacs at heart & thats all that matters.

I had to take the BMFA option as our club insists on it. And you know what a sticklers for rules our club is. LOL

You need another couple of options there, I selected 'RCHA without insurance' but I also joined BMFA.

          Same here!
Would love to join RCHA with insurance instead of BMFA.

Martin the poll will end in favour of the BMFA as most are shoe horned into have no choice - level the field and let the BMFA stand on it own feet and I'll wager a much different result.

90%+ asked for an alternative and this was asked on the back off another survey that asked more detailed questions concerning the BMFA i.e. Was it Value for Money , Did they feel it was fixed winged biased, Did they rate the mag etc etc. Not surprising the poll's highlighted the need for something fresh.

I joined RCHA with insurance this year, my club has accepted the new insurance so it's all good for me. Had they had to refuse the RCHA insurance I would have rejoined the BMFA but still would have used RCHA to support the new venture.

I went with the BMFA just because i thought the RCHA scheme was at that point not proven etc etc.
I am hoping in the next year or 2 that the rcha scheme will be an excepted alternative and then i will more than likely swap over

                  Exactly the same here too...

Plus my club is BMFA affiliated and will not recognise RCHA cover etc. As soon as the shuffling of goal posts stop I will be joining the RCHA.

I have joined neither as yet.

My heart says RCHA as this forum has been most helpful to me and think that Stuart is brave to start it up and deserves the support.

My head says BMFA for the insurance when I get to the point of needing it.

What I think I will probably end up doing is RCHA without ins this year and BMFA with insurance and hope that the insurance issue is resolve next year when I would hope to just joint RCHA.

Confused - you will be after this weeks episode of soap.

same here, although I have never had any problems with the BMFA, and as the "F" stands for "flying" and that's what I do
I fly both Fixed wing and rotary, and the BFMA caters for both

no need to further fragment this hobby is there?

Also, to buy two insurance policies that do the same thing is not on for me, I mean, you wouldn't pay for two policies on your car would you lol

and i thought that i've seen at the begining of the rcha that the insurance was better than the outdated p*$$ stained old duffers at the bmfa
