I built a synergy n9 with a wren44 with a mate last year, built for 3d. It's almost finished now, had lots of little hurdles to overcome along the way!
I built a Trex 700LE with a Wren MW44 earlier in the year, fly it as a 'Sunday Best' only so it doesnt get out that much (not even every Sunday)...
The only problem with it is the flight times, about 4mins 30 due to the initial attempt to keep everything as stock as possible, I need to improve the fuel capacity so am thinking of adding an extra 700 tank to sit alongside the current one or getting two of them plastic welded together. - If anyone knows someone who is good at plastic welding then I would really appreciate the contact details...
I used to fly the WREN CenturyUK Predator Turbine, I took over from Mark Tilbury for all the prototype test flying before the conversion went to market.
I loved flying this model, it was rewarding to fly not only because of how it flew but the sound, smell and sense of excitement you get from flying a turbine!
In stock trim flying 720mm main blades you could feel the weight of the MW54 turbine gas generator unit, a change to 800mm mains and gear ratio to suit made a real difference. The latter made the model track through the air as if on rails and autos were awesome.
I did lightly 3D the model which it coped well with considering it's 16lbs.+ weight fuelled :-)
I have a YouTube video of it flying I'll grab the link for and post, it was taken a few years ago now but still good to watch.
