  • First Tail Rotor Failure

    Well, That was fun!

Doing some stall turns and bam crunch, one of the TT gears strip..

Hit hold and stired the cyclic a bit.. and landed

Just gotta order the parts now

Is it just the gears? If so, nice save!

      Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

Yeah just the front lower gear, Parts ordered..

Also the blades where outta track.. just replaced the dampers as they were so badly shot! only replaced them with the crappy grey "sport" dampers for now.

P.S Being able to piroflip etc and hitting hold early saved me.

More to the point, why did it strip, is this on the 600? If so, it's got a very robust tail drive train, I tried many times to strip it in flight with lots of hard reversals, and it stood up very well, never missed a beat. Either you damaged it before hand or something is amiss on the model somewhere. Give it a careful check over when changing the gear....
