Trex 500 Blades

Hey All,

Ive just fitted a set of 425mm Align blades to my 500 and noticed that on one of them the wood core is exposed. It looks well laminated but is this normal? Not sure if i should risk it.

Pic attached, i noticed that also there is no resin over the wood so i guess as the wood softens more chance of failure

That is SO not normal!

Get them back to the shop, & get a refund.

For god's sake, don't try & fly them!

Thats a phenomen called delaminating... you dont want that happening in fright... its a bad thing

wow thats very dangerous, remove them go back , get some new ones , intact if the shop told u thats normal ? i wood get a refund & shop els were .

These are the wood cored Align D blades, as they are hand laid up the wood often moves a few mm in the process and then when the blades are finished a small section of wood is exposed, it IS NOT A SAFTY issue as the blades are still perfectly bonded together.
I have seen a number of blades like this and flown some myself.

Anyone with 425 or 600D blades, go look at them closely and bet a few of you have the same thing.

get them back to the shop thay came from. last year i was setting up a 600 just hovering and triming out the tail. when bang one of my new radix blades delambed i sh*t myself it not fun at all.
