New TX Pack

Hi All

Just got a new 9.6v 2700mAh TX pack for my Futaba T9CP. Will the standard charger still do the job.

Yes it will, but you'll find it will take much longer to do a full charge....

For instance if your charger is 100mAh, it will take 27 hours to fully charger the Tx batt.

You may consider using a higher output charger or a field charger.

I've got a schulze charger, but the charge time on what they call 'auto C' is much quicker than the suggested 16 hours and am concerned this may be damage the pack in the long term.

No, should be no problem.

Basically any type battery NiMh, Lipo etc, you can charge at 1C.

That means for your 2700mAh you can charge it at 2.7A, so it will be full in one hour.
For a quick charge you can charge at 2C.

I think the important thing is the 1st charge, break-in, that should be as per the table to make sure the pack is properly formed. just done the same to my 2700 pack.

It is best to actually charge these smaller cell packs slower than 1C unless you are actually in a real tearing hurry plus make sure your charger has a good peak detection algorithm cos you can often find they peak too soon or too late...Oooeeer Mrs
