  • Gluing bearings to main block

    Hey all,

Just wondering what you guys use to secure bearings in bearing blocks with?

Would a very small amount of thick CA to a good job?

    Thanks!

loctite 641 is for bearings .be carefull with "green" loctite there are many types one of which is high strength and thin for "wicking" into fine threads. i cant find it now but somewhere i have a chart saved with all the numbers and applications

      edit here's one

CA certainly sticks well, but it also has a tendency to wick into the bearing itself rendering it unusable.

I use tiny drops (very small amount indeed) of a deep green coloured loctite for this application - think it's Loctite product 278 from memory, but will check later. It's bleedin hard to get undone which is why I'd advise using very sparingly.

        Edit - it's 648 that I've got, not 278.
