  • Dynatron + K&S Wand..

    How is everyone fitting theirs?

I used the red sleeve that comes with it, attatch it to the starter then clamp it up, but as soon as I try starting anything with it the wand un-screws itself off the shaft?!

Anyone tried pinning it using the hole provided? What drill bit is best as that shaft looks pretty tough!

Red Loctite or bearing fit stuff, put a load on and leave it. Will not come off after that.

If you need to remove it at a later date, just apply a little heat
    Cheers,

Sounds like a plan to me, but does the red loctite work on plastic?

Drilling that shaft looked like a mission.

It is, but there is a plastic insert inbetween the wand and the Dynatron shaft.

Thats the red insert that goes between the starter shaft and the wand.

Is it not threaded as well ??. Surely its not just the clamping force holding it onto the shaft ??.
                      Cheers,

Nope its not threaded at all, yup just clamping force which really isnt ever going to be much

Have a feeling im going to have to pin it and use the pillar drill at work.

Depends if the shaft is hardened I guess. Pillar drill would be a good bet, at least you should be able to drill it square.

I can't believe its not threaded, might as well use a push in one.
                          Cheers,

I drilled my dynatron shaft with a dremel drill, so can be done.
