  • 1st FFF, Stall turn, Idle up and inverted.

What a fantastic day. I have just come back from the field with Orange Colin and it's been a blinder. Apart from when doing my Rapid Rotors I have not flown FF, well today I decided to bite the bullet and go for it.

I leant to hover with a E-Sky belt-cp and still had it so i bound it to my DSX9 and set it up. Well at the field I spun her up in normal and went for a circuit. Well I can fly the sim and was sure it was only the fear of trashing the rappy that was holding me back, and sure enough it was.

After a couple of circuits I thought in for a penny and all that and when for a stall turn. Bingo two complete rotations and back down again, turned into a tail in hover and landed. My hands were shaking and I was grinning like an idiot.

Here is the video sorry about the quality.

Next flight, right idle up and inverted. I checked the curves and spooled up to 50% and flicked into Idle up. Same as before a couple circuits then up just like the beginning of the stall turn but this time I just kept it coming once upside down applied some negative pitch and back cyclic. Bingo inverted hover at about 40 feet. I held it for about 5 seconds and the rolled out. Unfortunately I didn't get any video but i will next time i promise.

Well that’s it. I have now change my boxers and stopped shaking, but i will be charging the lipos to go again tomorrow. Just wish I could do it with the Rappy now.

Nice one, I know what you mean about not wanting to try stuff with the rappy, I have the same problem, I wish i had kept my rex 450 now.
Ive been out today, few small improvements, but my aim is circuts, and 8's, not there yet, but both helis came home in one piece so Im happy. The weather looks good for tomorrow too
