I.ve just bought a new 6s 5000 lipo pack, its the same size as a welgrad 6s 4000mHa pack.

I plan to use this pack in my trex 500 I just hope its not going to be too heavy.

Yea, could be. Thats an ideal pack for the 600!

Can only repeat what's been said, that is a 600 size pack and rather OTT for a 500.

The weight will counter any benefit gained from the large mAh capacity!!!

Too big and too heavy Wayne.

If you can squeeze it in and are just flying circuits etc then you should be ok but the balance will be way out.

I've got a 500 and I seriously doubt you'll get it to fit under the canopy without hacking the heli to bits mate
Packs half that size are more the norm, 2700's fit pretty snug

Oh Dear - Trying to think of damage limitation here, you might be able to mount it between the skids (Bomb Bay Style) and retain a COG whilst you do basic circuits!

Basically it's for a 600 not a 500 and it cost you a lot more than the correct battery would have done!

Provided you hav'nt changed any plugs or used it-you should be able to get a refund or exchange it for the one you really want,,,,,,,,,, or is that not possible???

As everyone else has said, you will really struggle to get that under the canopy, and if you do, it will massively nose heavy. You would ideally be better off looking for 2 6s 2500-3000mA packs for the same sort of money as that one pack has cost you.

Thanks all as you may of noticed i,ve only been flying helis for just over 4 months, the 4000s are the packs I started flying the 500 on and to be honest i,ve not tried any other packs.

I have been flying planks for over 30 years the last 10 of them have been electric only so I have 3s packs of 2000 and bigger that I can make up to 6s so i can try this out first.

As for geting the pack changed that should not be a problem, once again thanks for the info from you all.
