  • Progress at last!

    3 packs and 3 achievments!

Went out to a deserted playing field near me for some practice, all was going well, really well infact. Took off and done some 8's then decided I should try and do some more nose in practice. A couple of quick nervous attempts later I went for it n held it there for quite some time. Must of been a while as the alarm sounded as I started and was on 6 mins when I'd finished (alarm set for 3 mins to make packs last). Just digging out another pack from my pocket when a load of young lads come on the field to play footy, Bugger!

2 full packs left in my pocket and I wasnt going to go home til they were drained. Off I headed to another field I been told about and it started to bloody rain, great!

Pulled up and waited 5 mins and the rain stopped so my luck was in . This pack I spent just flying about, doing a bit more nose in and finally towards the end worked up the courage to do a proper stall turn. To my disbelief I made it and with no sketchy movements.

At this point my heart was thumping like a good un, knees all but gone but had to do another pack. Took off and got up to a reasonable height and did a tic toc. Now I been able to do these before but just the one, decided to give 2 a go, yep made it ok now 3, made it . My nerves got the better of me and had to bring it down into a hover. After I'd gathered my thoughts I took it up again and flipped it inverted, managed to hold it there for about 20 secs I'd guesse, then bottled it and flipped it back upright and bought it back into land.

Finally I feel all the time Im putting in on the sim is paying off. Im still shaking like a leaf writing this, tho with the biggest smile across my face. Just wanted to share what I think is my best and shortest days flying so far with you all.

    Cheers

nice one and gratz. I look forward to doing the same- my main achievement at present is getting the heli home in one piece, which is happening pretty much every time now- must try harder!

I know the feeling, doing a new manouvre or just making one that you already know look even better gives you a real confidence boost making you hungry for more

                          Keep up the good work

Think I'm a long way off competing Matt! Tho I'm seriously considering going for my A this year, maybe my B if I can get good enough.

Cheers Ade, I think next time I'm down south and visit at DMHC you will see a marked improvement mate.

                              Cheers
