running nitro off dx6i & no govner, pls give me your thoughts?
Also depends on the governor. The CSM governors can be setup for remote and controlled operation, so they could easily work with 6ch setup. They can be set so that they only operate when the throttle output (not input) is above say 25%, so when you're in 'start/normal' mode this condition is not satisfied so the gov is off, but when you flick into idle up, and your throttle curve is always above 25% (say 100%, 60%, 45%, 60%, 100% or whatever you have) then the gov will be engaged.
Once the gov is engaged tho, you will not be able to adjust the head speed from the Tx, but will be able to do it by trial'n'error on the governor itself, or more easily with a tacho.
Basically you can do a lot of flying before you will feel you need a governor.
Not having a gov will require more careful matching of throttle and pitch curves but that's not a bad thing anyway.
Getting used to how the engine runs without a gov can be helpful in getting it tuned well because the throttle is not being ridden for you to compensate.

I've been flying my nitro for a while now, on both a DX6i and a DX7. I've not yet fitted the governor as, at my stage of flying, I don't think I need it.
