How do I get my wife interested?

2.5 years in and she is still defiantly not joining in.

I thought the CX2 would be the breakthrough - fun and easy to fly, doesn't break the house, and the cats sit under it to get their hair done but no... never flown without my cajoling. Her couple of flights she did do were awful - missed lz1 (sofa, corner seat) overshot lz2 (dining room table) and didn't even make the erv (conservatory floor).

Now... even after getting me a nice 600 LE she won't come to the field, didn't even watch my youtube video of the maiden...

I'd much rather share my hobby than she see it as some wacky thing I do on my own... any suggestions to enroll the missus?

my misses (who does not join in, apart from to say you hope you dont fly like that at the field when on pheonix) say its a lost cause and you should be thankfull of the free time (with raised eyebrows)

How do I get my wife interested?

You can't. Either she is interested or she isn't. If she isn't you won't be able to persuade her differently I am afraid. You just have to accept it and be glad she supports and encourages you to do it (some wives don't...).

I love flying - models and full size, I even have my own 2 seat full size aircraft and fly 90 - 100 hours a year. My wife hates it - she fully supports and encorages me - but she won't fly. Great pity as we could do so much more together... however that is how it is.

You say that, My Mum was never interested in flying (After my Dad made her puke in a 152 before I was born). Then my farther and myself built an Alpi Pioneer 300. Because my Dad wanted my Mum to go up with him he talked her into doing the safty pilot course. Well when she was flying like driving the car she didn't get sick. To cut a long story short she now has here PPL, IMC and a few other odds and ends.

They now fly a Commander and she has flown over the Alps, if it wasn't for her my Dad would be a local flyer I'm sure.
